Dear Prajin,

It's so nice to see many people involved in your activities for re-greening the bare-land. Through your enthusiasm, I have learned a lot:
- Start with materials around the house.
- Do it with full spirit of belief.
- Big work will be lessen when it is done in relax mode.
- Feel happy and rewarded for whatever the outcome.
- View the work as a system. The ficus is sacred tree for Buddhists. It commonly produces abundant amount of fruits that which source of food for animals. The tree is easily to be propagated and grows well in large range of soil conditions.

I would like to share the identification of Ficus species, are:

1. Photos 5 and 6 is Ficus benjamina
2. Photo 11 is Ficus caulocarpa
3. Photo 15 is Ficus rumphii

The local name of Bohi tree is one of ideal example for how the botanical name is dearly needed. As far as I know, Bodi tree is referred to F. religiosa and F. rumphii. These species are differentiated using the shape of leave and fruit.

Dear Prajin,

Thanks a lot for your welcome to use your concept and method to green nature.

Using Ficus trees to green the land certainly has many good points and one of them is that the Ficus is woody and easy to propagate. Could you please let us know how you propagate the Ficus by using their stems. I think we need to know what the treatment is applied after cutting stem, what solution is used to soak the stem, and other steps before planting then onto the soil.

Thanks a lot in advance.

We used three methods to cut branches from Ficus cuttings before planting.

1. The graft is generally 15-20 days as a tree whose roots are growing out. Cut the soil to be healthy before planting.

2. Partial cutting depth of 25% of the branch, leaving the roots grow into the lesion. Or 20-30 I cut out a day nursery. Root out the last 1-2 months.

3. Cut the branches the soil at all. Choose a large branches 1-6 inches long, 0.50 to 1.00 meters soak EM 1: 200 for 1 night and then put into bags cuttings. Bottle Tree nursery or convert it for 1-2 months, it will root out the best in early rain. The survival rate to 80%
