I am so much appreciate the work that you have been doing in greening the nature. The selection of plant is not only has religious essence but also set an example how great the human act in effecting the nature. On the religious aspect, Budha was reported sitting under a Ficus tree for doing the meditation. On the aspect of human consequence, planting the Ficus trees will provide later the greenery to the scenery. This greenery give service to a beautiful landscape to the eyes; the green color of leaves introduce the calmness into the heart and peacefulness into the brain; the inter-layers of the leaves and different kind of leaves surface purifying the air and reduce the noises and sounds; The smell of leaves and flower is the fragrant to the air; network of root is sponge to contain the water. And the fruits.... Yes.... The fruit!
The pictures above demonstrate other function of greening the land. To green the land means to improve the biodiversity of organism in a man made ecosystem. Many city plans these days call for the presence of fauna in the city as one of the objectives in city landscape design. This goal can only be achieved by creating the food chain through the selection of planted trees. Planting the Ficus trees is one of good example for creating the food chain within the organism. The fruit of many Ficus species is among the most liked ones by birds and insects.
I watched http://youtube/FmyEdrgGNYc. By the sound of heavy singing,the video shows how much the fruits being liked by the birds. Similarly, the amount of fallen fruits identifies the large quantity of food that can easily provided by one focus tree. It reminds me a sentence one senior researcher in INRA-France "you can not imagine how big the exodus are being forced onto the land by the fruits of a tree. Let's we take the example of the photos above, how many tree will be produced? If they are not germinated and turned into compost, how healthy the soil can be?
According to the size and the color of the fruits, the trees above are Ficus virens. Hopefully, in few years to come, there will be more and more birds visiting the trees. Likewise, they will keep calling the friends with their beautiful songs. When this situation happen, another consequence of greening the tree is the unconscious education. We are educated in knowing our surround, able to identify the useful and useless, and willing to take action to guard the nature.
