I found this ficus tree at
Setia Alam Community Trail. Although I never saw a
Ficus species in form of a solid nice tree, I am immediately recognized the tree as a
Ficusspecies. I produced two photos for the earlier post for rubric - spotting local trees- with a little notice "to be identified". Now, I am confident to say that the tree is
Ficus superba Miq.
Ficus superba is distributed from Thailand to Indonesia archipelago. The community trail was established on the leftover forest. By this regards, I believe the presence of this species in this community trail has no human interference.
Distribution of
Ficus superba is identified in circle.
Tree base area where some root are appeared on soil surface.
Tree base and trunk base. Bernard and Christian provide the scale.
The whitish bark attracts the sight. I predicted the tree is 25 meter tall.
Wide canopy of the handsome
Ficus superba
Two fresh fallen leaves with dried leaves at the background.
