TFLSA for year 2015 was started on Meach 7, 2015 at Taman Permainan Jalan Sastra U2/1 TTDI, Shah Alam. The program was attended by sponsored by JKR and J.C. Jacobsen Foundation and attended by their staffs, staffs of MBSA, students of Sunway University, and communities.
After a year following the TFLSA, I and Jean decided to involve actively. We place our involvement as a social responsibility. Jean proposed himself as a public speaker on each TFLSA. Datin Rossiti Aishah Rashidi has been doing it since these pass few years. As this is the first TFLSA for year 2015, I purposely brought
Keranji (
Diallium indum and
Diallium cochicinense) seeds to be shared with the audiences. Keranji or Asam Keranji is commonly sold on the road side before Merapoh. The tree is member of bean family.
Asam Keranji is getting lesser to be known by the people.
I perceive TFLSA as a form of civic science. It is a vehicle where people gathers and exchanges the news, ideas, information, thoughts and many more which therefore various positive views can be formed through this activity. Due to our routine activities in a man-made environment, we have been pulled out from socio -cultural root. An item to be consumed can be one of the best elements to re-introduce of the forgotten local habit. It may as easy as exposing, touching, and tasting it. I hope I may get some other example that can be shared with the participants.
As we decided to involve on TFLSA, I and Jean see that bringing the engendered local trees can be another effective and efficient ways to initiate the community to treasure and to differentiate our local trees.

Diallium conchicinense and
Diallium indum those were shared to the participants. I am very please to find out that many participants take their action to germinate the
Keranji seeds.
The TFLSA was led by a staff of MBSA.
Jean shares his concern on the habitat lost for uncounted plants on the earth.
He showed the written report of IUCN on the Dipterocarpace. The ecological statuses for Dipterocarpaceae species are largely in alarming stage as most of them in category of endangered.
The habitat lost is directly put the fauna into a dangerous state of living. This was the concern that was shared by Datin Rossiti.
Bernard and Jean demonstrate how to handle the tree for planting.
